Common Questions

Contact & Intake Questions

Have questions before reaching out? Here are the ones families ask us most.

Do I need a referral to get started?

No referral is needed to contact us! Simply reach out by phone, email, or through this form and we'll guide you through the next steps. If your insurance requires an autism diagnosis or prior authorization, we'll help you navigate that process together.

Does NLBS accept insurance?

Yes — we work with a range of insurance providers including Medicaid and several major commercial insurers. Coverage for ABA therapy varies by plan. Contact us and we'll verify your benefits before your first appointment so there are no surprises.

What happens after I submit the contact form?

A member of our team will follow up within one business day. From there, we'll walk you through our intake process — gathering background information, verifying insurance, and scheduling your child's initial assessment with our BCBA.

Where do services take place?

We offer flexible service settings to meet your family's needs — in-home, in our clinic, at school, in community settings, and virtually. During intake we'll discuss which environment is the best fit for your child's goals and your family's schedule.

What ages do you serve?

We specialize in working with children ages 2–13 who have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Early intervention during these years can make a significant difference in a child's long-term development and independence.

I'm a provider - how do I refer a family to NLBS?

We welcome referrals from pediatricians, schools, psychologists, and other providers. Call us at (646) 652-7223 or email info@newlifebehaviors.org. We'll follow up with the family promptly and keep you informed throughout the intake process.
